Hi,
I’m using ZBrush 2019. I created this simple boolean mesh as you see in the file. When I try to remesh it using ZRemesher (Detect hard edges: on), the result isn’t so good. It messes up some hard edges while I need to keep them hard and just apply a little bit of smoothness later. I need very clean result after SubD.
The advertisments say that ZBrush 2019 has very intelligent ZRemesher so why cannot I remesh my boolean object with high quality?
Please guide me.
Please post screenshots as forum attachments as a first resort rather than blind files that could be anything.
That said, Zremesher is much improved, and with user effort, can deliver clean quality general topology for hard surface objects. But there is no magic button to automatically create the sort of precise, highly optimized, precision edge-creased geometry you’d get if modeling an object from low poly. If you require that, then you either need to create your geometry in such a way that you can crease the edges before Zremeshing, or manually retopologize it. If Zremesher was three times as good, it still wouldnt eliminate the need for this in some cases.
There are options to improve the results you get when using Zremesher, like using polygroups or guides. Be sure to familiarize yourself with all of them, so you can apply them depending on the situation.
