Zbrush 2019 Custom Menu Bug

Occasionally when I open zbrush, the custom menu I have created won’t load. All other buttons/ui elements in my custom UI will load properly. To get my custom menu to showup i need to do a force “Restore Custom UI”

This was happening in 2018 as well.

It’s a minor frustration that would be great if could be resolved.

I cant speak to your specific issue without more info, but custom UIs should be recreated in every new version of ZB, unfortunately. Things change in between versions, and a UI created in an outdated version should not, as a rule, be ported forward, lest some things break.

If that doesn’t apply here, perhaps more info could help a specific issue to be addressed.

Mine works perfectly fine with 2019. I save UI file and then Store UI file right afterwards. Do you do this? I used my UI file from 4r7 as the base.

Thanks guys, yeh it’s really hit and miss when it happens. Which makes it hard to repo. I’ll try and do some tests to see if i can make it happen every-time. This was happening in 2018, and i believe I recreated that UI from scratch at the time. 2019 is using 2018’s ui as a base. (While not “ideal” it seems to work fine as far as i know. Recreating ui’s every version isn’t fun.)

No, it isn’t. Unfortunately it is vital to reporting problems, as recycled UIs are expected to be problematic.
