ZBrush 2.0 can work on Intel Macs

Ive gotten it to run… it doesnt work all the time but it does work most of the time.

Laucnh ZBrush… when the welcome screen appears immediately press control. When you move the mouse over the close button it should highlight in whie. Click on it and away you go.

You might need to try it a few times. If it doesnt wrk just do a force quit and try again

I find that if you time it right and hit control right before the welcome screen is displayed it works

Thanks for the tip, I’ve not had any success with the launch and wait technique (freezes every time) so I’ll give your method a go. It’s frustrating, I’ve finally got a machine that’s powerful enough to get the most out of ZB2 and it won’t run Aaaaaaaarghhh!

Did you mean Command (apple) key? I tried this half a dozen times using the control key and ZB froze every time but if I press the command (apple) key it works! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction anyway!

Edit, I may have spoken too soon. Earlier today this worked twice in succession, now I can’t get it to work at al! :frowning:

OK I got it working and it’s an absolute joy after struggling to use ZB on my poor old eMac! If we can get hold of 2.5 and I add another gig of RAM it’s going to fly!

I never did try it with the command key, always semeed to work woth the control key. Anyway… it is really nice to be able to get it up and running

Why not just look at the Intel thread? Did you do a search?

Yes I did a search and this method is much easier and works most of the time.

The suggestion was for you people to add this to the other thread, so that anyone else can follow one place and find solutions. Gllad this works for you, but it may not work for everyone.

Yes I’ve read the other thread too. Unfortunately no method I’ve tried reliably launches ZB on my machine. Pressing Command seems the most reliable but even that may work 3 times in a row and then won’t work for the rest of the day :frowning:

Ok, let’s try this again. I’m trying to solve this for you guys, so move the comments and suggestions over to the thread tracking this. It’s pointless to start a new thread on an on-going topic.

If this idea presented here works for you, state so on the thread I started AND post the necessary information about your systems as requested right at the top.

Then give a detailed point by point process of what you are doing so that everyone will benefit.

Nothing any of you have posted on this new thread helps resolve the issue if you can’t provide context.

Hope to see you all posting the necessary info on http://zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=38624

If I had anything useful to add to the other thread I can assure you I would.
