.zbr question

Ok, I usually load a mesh from scratch with a fresh scene, but last night I thought I would save the .zbr scene with all my new lights, and sss settings all finely tuned to see how it worked. (I’d rather not have to set up the material and lights all over again.
But, I can’t select the head mesh and its not in the layers. And if I load the ztool, its adding another head in the scene which I don’t want.
Am i missing something reeeealllly easy here?

thanks

Fixed and dually understood from aurick from a quick search.

The .ZBR format is a 2.5D representation of the canvas. That’s why it’s saved from the Document palette, which handles all things canvas-related.

To save a model in 3D format for later editing you need to use Tool>Save As. This saves the file as a .ZTL file.

But there has got to be a better way to save all the lights and material settings for a particular project.

In ZBrush 4 simply save using the ZProject format. You can read about it in the New Features PDF found in the ZBrush 4.0\Documentation folder.

Or you can save your document and your model. Any visible materials will be saved. (If your model has different materials on the back than the front you should snapshot both front and back views before saving the document.)

In your new session, load the document, clear the canvas, then load the tool and go back to work.
