ZB 2019 Sculptris PRO behavior ?

Hi, after I switched to 2019 version, I noticed that the feeling I had while brushing with sculptris pro active (mostly combined with claybuildup and smooth) was far less responsive and overal slithly different than what I had in version 2018 (I also noticed it crashes far less though)

Hard to describe a feeling but i’ll try, basically it felt much slower much sooner in polycount; for example in 2018 it start to lag (like an input lag) at around 500k poly, but was still manageable and an enjoyable experience up to 800k to 1M polys, in 2019 it’s more like at around 250k poly that the input lag become quite noticeable, and also it seems that the smooth brush (with SP active) isn’t as radical than in 2018 version, in a sense that it tend to preserve more patches of polygons that are already there instead of completly remeshing the surface that is being smoothed, which probably make it less crash prone but doesn’t give the same feeling (and also as I mentioned feel slower overall)

All in all, the 2019 seems solid, and crashes far less so far, but sculptris pro, for some reason doesn’t feel as good at least on my machine (ryzen 2700x 32GB of ram)

is there some settings I need to check to maybe bring back the 2018 behavior ?

I don’t have any help to offer other than you’re not alone.
I noticed a lag in input response too. Finally, started searching to see if others were experiencing the same behavior in SP.
Running 3.7 6 core with 32GB.

Hopefully, this will be addressed soon.

Sculptris mode doesn’t even use past 34% of my cpu, while zooming take up to 55% and rotating up to 94% probably something to look there, currenty sculptris mode is roughly useless in this state for me, hope some performance boost in a near future, i kinda liked this mode.

I must add, after putting more hours into it, not only does it perform poorly, but it crashes a lot unfortunately, and there seems to not have any pattern on the crashings, (with older version it often crashed on intensive task like zremesher or things like that more often than not, with this one, even on a zoom in/out it crashed…)

I’m actually gonna resintall 2018.1 in the meantime, hopping for an improvement later.
