ZAppLink (4r8 ) doesn't connect to Corel Painter or Affinity Photo (Win)

Hello, I would like to use Corel Painter (2018 version) with ZAppLink (using ZBrush 4r8 on Windows 10)
Everything was set up as it should be with regard to the settings in ZBrush but after choosing the applications (I don’t own Photoshop for windows - just Painter and Affinity Photo which both handle photoshop file formats) ZAppLink just sits there waiting for a connection that never comes. Very disappointed - would really like this to work, any suggestions? Is this possible with Corel Painter?

I’ve just installed the Corel Painter 18 trial on a Windows 10 machine and ZAppLink works without problems. How did you select Corel Painter as the app for ZAppLink?

Thanks for answering and great to hear it worked- that gave me hope and I tried it again just now - I haven’t used this feature in many years and forgot the way this works. After preparing the file to have a texture map, uv’s, high enough resolution, etc -I went to the Zbrush’s Documents/ ZAppLink and then chose the button to find the looked for the exe for Painter 2018 in the program files. I chose the button Set Target App - where I thought it had just hung - just saying the exe I chose and not actually going into painter. I didn’t realize that I needed to go back and click documents again and chose ZappLink and then chose drop now.

I’m still trying to figure out how to best work on layers and have them applied properly in ZBrush - but that’s a different issue. Very happy to see this will likely eventually work out.

thanks
