Zaplink and photoshop cs3, photoshop wont save?

hi hope this is the right place to put this.

when ever i use zaplink with photoshop cs3 it wont let me save. it will import the psd into photoshop as usual, and it will let me paint it but then when i try to save so i can go back to ZBrush it gives me a mesage that say’s that the psd file is locked and i need to use windows explorer to unlock it.

i have used zaplink many times with photoshop elements on the same computer so i dont get why it only happens when i use cs3 :cry:

any ideas?

I don’t have Photoshop (any version) but check your CS3 settings and make sure there isn’t an option you have ticked which is protecting the file upon import.

Please follow this forum’s guidelines when posting any troubleshooting inquiry. With each troubleshooting post, please include your full system specs and any other pertinent information which will allow us to determine if this is one of the following: a) user error? b) Misunderstanding of a specific feature, such as its usage and limitations? c) An item which has already been resolved. d) An item which needs to be resolved.

IMPORTANT: Before posting a troubleshooting item, make sure that:

  1. You are using the latest ZBrush version.

  2. You have a ‘clean’ ZBrush install. i.e. remove any items which you have added (such as older ZScripts and other startup items) which may result in unexpected - and difficult to resolve - problems.

  3. You did not increase the PreferencesMax polygon count or Compact Mem to a level which can not be supported by your system specs.

oh sorry about the giudlines ill make sure i do it properly next time.

i have managed to get it working again so if any one gets the same problem try this.

find the temp PSD export file that is created when useing zplink. delete this file.
now go back and restart zbrush and photoshop zaplink should now work.

i have no idea why this works and i have no idea on why the problem ocurred.
