Zao of the Nautilus

when trying to reproduce Zoid’s great snail-scape to make possible findings about the grid-marks i was taken off into something else… which will probably become another cd-cover for a friend’s compilation. as i’m still in experimentation-mode re: TextureMaster only, i made use of Davey’s fantastico Tiler-Zscript to achieve a rather seamless texture. except for the background all colorization was done by the fog-render settings (gradient as fog-texture) and adjustments. bringing it from the rendering’s machine TFT-display to the imac’s monitor i realized once more i have to make severe colour and brightness adjustments in photoshop, which i overdid, i’m afraid. hope you’ll like it anyway!

Great image Jaundel!
I love the colors and my eyes just keep following the design around and around. Such a nice sense of depth :+1: :+1:

This is beautiful and Tami is right about the depth very cool.

!!!, as always, hansl.
tell me, how many of your cd covers are commercial cd? don’t tell me all of them or you’ll be giving me a heart-attack

lovely colours and swirling sense of depth.

<BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR> a thinking artist is no surprise <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

I like the use of the buttons/rivets to deal with the seams. You have a great knack for creating depth in a small space. I know what you mean about going off in tangents. The TextureMaster has my mind spinning much like this image. I think the ripple/offset effect has something do with the h-div and v-div tool settings and the use of deformers on the tool either before or after the offset move. Still trying to figure it out though

Personally I think it’s perfect.

And WOW! Those colors are funkalicious!

Very well done. If it is supposed to be for a CD cover, does it relate to the CD in anyway. I am just curious, as every now and then someone ask about a CD jacket but would prefer it to relate in some way to the matterial on the CD. It would certainly help us novice’s, as you are the Guru on CD cover images.

Wow thats wonderfull :grimacing: , I really like your psychedelic covers, I have to try something similar :)))) :+1:

Your pictures are just magic Juandel! You are very clever and it’s clear you are having lots of fun using ZBrush!

Hey levius! Good to see you around again! Love your 3dchix site! You HAVE to post that remodel of the Mech by Ofer! Very Nice!

Wonderful Image, Juandel! :+1: :sunglasses: :+1:
This one looks like a fantastic hallucination, and the color relationships are so vibrant they pulsate! Fine job.
:+1: :+1: :+1:

Gorgeous Juandel, this looks like a 5 dimensional ocean of color crashing in on itself. I am a big fan of using fog as an integral part of an image myself. I love how it interacts and enfolds other objects in depth

wow, jaundel…you’re awesome. i remember when you were just starting w/ Zbrush and now you have accomplished so much…it’s amazing. this image is wonderful. all the spirals…wow, i can’t really say what i think about this image…great job…keep up the good work!

:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

I truly love this image! Outstanding work as always!!!

This image will make a GREAT! cd cover, juandel. It’s fantastic, to say the very least. I am impressed :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

thank you so much for your overwhelming comments, :+1: :+1: :+1: Z-friends! what a pleasure to be on this board! you make me hop like the happy dancer in robo’s newest kick ass animation ( + :+1: :+1: :+1:, robo!!!)

as i was asked if there are any desktop-wallpaper fitting resolutions available, i wasted another mb on Digits’ server and uploaded two versions of the Zao there: 1, 2. in case you download it, please be sure to make the proper color-adjustments and croppings for your needs  (i, for my part, prefer a less confusing wallpaper ;))

i already answered a few questions in private messages, but as i pop up here anyway (go, Kathy, go!!! :D) i’ll repeat it in public again:

  • Christos: not one of the cd-covers was ever sold - all were done for a friend who was saving his collection of audiotapes on cd and it was mucho fun and very challenging to do them, and, btw, a great way to get in touch with a lot of z-brush features.
  • Deevee: in this case i don’t know what kind of music will be contained on the cd. i just had the idea to make a cd-cover while i was taken off by zbrush and as i was working on a square canvas it might well fit as cover for the cd another friend of mine is compilating these days without having to resize it.
  • jibberish: ha, i thought i was one of the veteranos around here, being on the brush since the first days a mac-demo was ready for download about 14 months ago  but then i can’t help to drop back into full-newbie-mode at least once a month (involontarily), so your impression of myself mastering some capabilities of our beloved zbrush within very short time might be correct and incorrect at the same time

again: thank you all!
