Does anyone else have this problem on a Mac? If you try to load a tool via the (Load Tool) or an .obj (via the import), Zbrush just freezes and there is a message at the top left saying Zbrush initialising. The only way to get control again is to do a force quit. I have tried this with both the 64Bit and the 32 Bit version with no luck 
Try changing the Finder mode to āListā or āColumnsā and rather than Icons or Cover Flow. You will need to restart ZBrush.

Nope this doesnāt seem to work! ZBrush still freezing. I tried both the 32-bit and the 64-bit versions and its the same issue!
I had the same issue on OSX and found that switching to columns view and restarting fixed it.

Iām having the same problem, I canāt load some Projects into Z4R7 on Mac.
If I try loading a simple sphere it opens fine or old Z4R6 Projects they open fine.
But new projects were Iāve been working with new features like ZModeler they donāt want to open.

You have to switch the Finder mode in any app using QtFramework (as ZB) opening the Open or Save Diialog inside such an app.
(Qt Framework remembers the last used mode)
Setting the Finder mode via OSX (e.g opening Finder directly) does NOT solve this issue.
A welcome new addition is that you can now put an alias in Lightbox of the folder holding you ZTools or ZProjects so that they can all be opened via lightbox

AFAIK (IĀ“m no coder but a guy who found that issue in another application):
The bad guy seems to be shared āQt Frameworkā libraries. They are not a part of OSX. These libraries are somewhere between an app and the OS and are used by many applications.
But this issue can be handled (as 4R6, using QT in the same version as well, proves).
As said, Qt is used by many applications and it remembers the last used Finder mode. This is a trap: If ZB is running fine for now and you go to another app using Qt and switch the Finder mode over there, ZB will show the loading/saving issue again!
The only thing I wonder is how this fundamental issue, which happens on any system and OSX version I tried so far, could pass the beta and the products final control.
Hi im sure im having the same issue cant save as or load and tools in? with a freeze and the save or load button flickering?

No Qt isnāt Quicktime. Itās a framework to ease a developerās work providing āreadymadeā functionsā¦
