Z-Remesher curves not helping in particular case. Any ideas?

I have a very nice mesh created. Now I simply want to take it out of Zbrush and manually setup the UVs.

Yes, I know Zbrush UV creation is great. But I need something specific so no need to suggest UV master.

Anyways, in trying to Zremesh the object I am getting great results everywhere except the tail. The Curves do not make the polygons follow them.

I’ve tried both algorithms (alt+press remesh) but no luck. I’ve tried upping and lowering the curve strength. I want the result I am getting but need the polygons to follow the sculpt better on the back (left) of the item here. The original mesh I made actually flows like this as well.

Any ideas how to force Z remesher to follow that shape better than I am? Thanks :smiley:

try breaking your tail off the main model and using Zremesh on it alone. Once you’re done you can reconnect the two pieces.

there is also manual retopo. Sometimes the long shortcut wins.
