Z P A W N (TUTORIAL ADDED)

Hi all, now i can say definitevely Zbrush is the best software to obtein in a few time without no big background in 3d or 2d, works like this.
P.S. I’m not be able to take a pencil in my hand or i haven’t any artistic background, but with a little effort you can do everythingh with amusement
I’ll put a deep tutorial.
Tonight i’m tired.
bye
Leo

Nicely done! Incredible action, and a lot of work it would appear. Waiting anxiously for the tutorials.

This picture has a superb sense of motion and I have fallen for your chain material.

I also really like the gargoyles and rats

Dynamic composition!
Have happy Zbrushing!
Pilou

Great Marciani¡¡¡

Well done! I think you have something going here. That chain is outstanding! :+1: :+1:

very kewl work Leo!!! I right clicked and saved this one. You know this would make a great 3d image (anaglyphs) especially due to the dynamic composition with the stance and chains. Would love to see a converted version of this. Thank you for sharing a very ultra kewl pic with us. :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

:grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: what an excellent job!!! dynamite dynamics all over! the chain is part. :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: - i can almost hear it clinking

Yea i have to agree with everyone else, this is great work!

Spawn is such a great character and you portrayed him in a great way… and those chains are really cool!

Great work Leo!! Bellissimo lavoro bro !!! :+1: :+1:

Hi Leo, I have yet to try a humanoid figure,…I hope I can do as well. :+1: 50.

ZPAWN
(SPAWN is copyright by Mc Farlane’s)

Hi all, thank’s for the compliments, like i promise here the step by step (sorry for my english).
It’s not a tipical step by step, but the workflow i use when work with Zbrush

  1. Start modeling in a little canvas (800x600), i made all the piece.
  2. Try the setup of the scene; in this case the perspective button don’t give me the “fish eye” deformation.I put the body slightly rotated backwards and i made the head a little bit small and the legs exagereted big and the boot too.
  3. When i achieve a satisfactory setup, i use the MM tool and resize in a bigger size (2800*2000).
  4. How i did the chain; to obtein this 3d effect you need play with any single ring in this way: a little bit big than previous ring and with the perspective button a little bit more than previous…
  5. Color the scene (ZPAWN is textured with texture master 2048*2048)
  6. When you have finished, resize the scene again( with half button), don’t save to avoid less all the work, try some test with the light…it’s more easy and fast. Save the setup light.
  7. Reopen the previous bigger scene, load the light, render in a best mode, at the end bake all and add some fiber where needed
8 Put on the forum and wait the compliment.

    Bye

Her the previous tutorial:HULK

Wow, Leo, that is the best step by step I’ve seen! If everyone did that we would all learn much faster! Good job, thanks for all the effort! 50.

Hi Marciani I want to thanks for this very detailed and didactic step by step tutorial and I right add to my personal list in wich I think have been the most didactic tutorial together with Stonecutter,Gary Komar, Frenchy Pilou, Bonecradle, PusGhetty,DeeVee,Juandel,Kokoro,
Grub and Southern to mention the more recent contribution of this type I remember (excuse me for those that I didnt mention,I will reviewed to be more equilibrated). The most important thing of this kind of tutorials recently Frenchy Pilou has staTed a phrase that to me is VERY ILUSTRATTIVE “It’s like a magician who disclose his secrets”. that is¡¡¡ is very easy to show and share the wonderful and non-suspected things that is possible to do with ZB¡¡¡
I am very happy for this attitude that im sure is a learning way to jump the newbys like me and others to a hight step. Im without confusion this respect¡¡¡¡
Really congratulate you¡¡¡¡¡ :+1: :+1: :+1:

As others have said Leo, this is without doubt one of the most detailed tutorials anyone has posted here, and a very generous expenditure of your time and energies for the benefit of the forum… :+1: :+1: :+1:

That’s a very interesting ‘forced perspective’ technique you illustrate!
:sunglasses:

Thanks, we need more threads like this one. Very well done! :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Hi Marciani
As usual a drawing is better than a big speech
Very good tut !
Trick for the perspective is inventive but normal in classical drawing
As a damned purist (I don’t obliged nobody : it’s pure fantasy of my part)
I am sure that you can make your “fog” in Zbrush
Have happy tutoring!
Pilou

Hi, thanks for the reply, very appreciated…
Me for first, when i see a good work, i’m very curious about the tecnique and the style, is for this reason i try to put a step by step detailed (my english limit the explanation)
Pilou:In my life i never made a drawing in a classical way, in my school i was every year rejected in drawing…i “discover” this tecnique only because the persp. button don’t give me enough distortion (probably with lightwave i have not problem with the "fish eye " effect, but i have many others problem   ).
Yes the fog is possible also wit Zbrush, sure!
But to achieve a better effect i need to try and try again, and i have not time to write the tutorial, then this is the question: FOG or TUTORIAL?
Bye
Leo

Hi Marciani
It’s one more interest as a prog than Zbrush to rediscover ancient technics
And permit to people who don’t see some crafts before to use it without preconception !
Have happy Zbrushing!
