Z lino-cut

Hello friends,This is my latest sculpt and experiment in "Z lino-cut "

I wanted to explore the possibility in zbrush to mimic the graphic lino-cut and printing fell .

“A lino-cut is a relief print produced in a manner similar to a woodcut but that uses linoleum as the surface into which the design is cut and printed from.”

Final print of Z lino-cut

This is the process i fallowed to achieve my Z lino-cut

1.first i created costume 2 brush using curve strap snap brush, curve-tube brush changed the curve falloff and size and activate the snap option.
2.created box with little thickness with black poly paint on it as base .
3. sculpted the portrait by costume bush by dragging line by line how you cut in lino with tool.
4. once i was happy with the portrait i did an live-boolean to get scoop feel like lino-cut .
5. once i was satisfied with the result from live-boolean,i created an plane as paper to transfer the print form Z lino-cut .
6. i used plane on top of the mesh and projected the plane using color option on and turn off geometry off and it gave me as close to real print making feel

here is a quick video of making

This is fantastic! The result really looks like a linocut. And of course, you could 3D print the result and actually print from it. Thanks for sharing your process! :+1:
