Z Key not working to toggel Spot Light painting mode

So am just starting to use Spot light and I find that after I load a image into Spotlight, everything works like I have seen in all the instructional videos, But I can not get into the spotlight painting mode by using the Z key.

When I hit the z key , My model reacts as if I hit the Frame button, and the Spot light wheel and spotlight image stays on the screen?

I checked my Public/Hotkey folder and there was nothing assigned to the Z key so I don’t think I might have reassigned the Z key.

Can any one please tell me how I get from the spotlight wheel to the spotlight Painting mode, and or why the Z key isn’t working for me.

Thanks.

Ok, I’m guilty of posting before digging into old posts enough.

So I found the Edit button in the Transform pallet, that switches the spotlight painting mode on and off.

But now I am wondering whats going on with my Z hot key? As mentioned I checked the Hotkey folder in the Public document folder and didn’t see anything assigned to the Z key?

Is there some place else to look for this possible hotkey change? Or what else might be going on with my Z key?

Thanks

I think the simplest solution is to re-assign the hotkey by Ctrl+Alt+clicking the Spotlight Edit button in the Transform palette and then pressing ‘Z’.

Thank you Marcus.
