My son is PASSIONATE about animation, computer images and creating amazing new creatures and “3D Animation Art”. He is only 12 and we are trying to feed his gift of art with tools, classes etc.

He LOVES ZBrush and spends hours looking at the art and creations. However, the program is too expensive and powerful for his use just yet.

Does anyone recommend a “ZBrush Lite” type of program he could start with and move toward ZBrush in the future? He is very competent on his Mac and advanced for his age with computer navigation.

as already mentioned, sculptris. its free and very capable.

zbrush though offers a discounted student license, you may want to look into that.
