Hey All,

I’m in the middle of pre-production on a feature film that I am co-directing and co-producing. We have about 75% of the budget. This is an independent film. We have little money at this point for design and model creation, if anyone is interested in getting a monster into a film, this would be that opportunity. There would be some money up front then the rest would come on principal photography once the rest of the financing is in place.

Just so that you realize I’m not some student film maker. Here is a little background.

I have been a visual effects artist for 15 years. I have worked on such films as the Matrix, Terminal, Apocalypto and many others.

In 2001 I won the Omni Award for best VFX on television

In 2003 I won the Slamdunk Screenwriting competition

In 2007 I won the Getty images group101 commercial directing award.

In 2008 I won the Science Fiction Short film festival Grand prize for a film I produced.

Also in 2008 I won the Audience choice award for best visual effects at the Malibu film festival.

Also this year my co-director has a film in the Seattle film festival, that my post production company did the post.

Hi Ken,

Could you describe kind of monster are you looking for?

Would you say here with any accuracy what percentage is offered ‘up front’ as the initial payment for the model?

And also of course, when the ‘principal photography’ is scheduled to begin?

Is this a pitch?

Hey,

This is not a pitch. I currently have 9.5 acers secured that we are shooting in Florida. It’s a jungle type atmosphere. We have shooting budget now but intend to use the models to increase the VFX shot count. basically get more cash for the VFX. Initailly we have only a few thousand for a model. Principal photography is set for July to miss the Hurican season which is August. Things could get pushed but we are trying to work around the possible weather condtions.

Sorry about he ugly font colors don’t know why that happened. But if there is any ugly color font award I’ll take it!

If your interested send me an e-mail. I’m currently having concept art done as well so I can give that in a few weeks, once an NDA is signed I can tell you more about the project. It’s based on a best selling famous novel.

hey thanks for the ugly unreadable font award. Maybe I can find the exact color as the background so that it is invisible.

Lol…

You can select the color in that little window while writing the initial message. I could not offer the bad spelling award as I am having a hard time to read it in the first place. But you can;t have that anyways as I already own it!

PS:If you delete the COLOR tags in your message while editing it, all will be default. Maybe you cut and pasted it from another editor and the tag’s do not fit.
