trying to learn the HD features…does any one know what you do when you are done with HD detailing? do you just do a displacement map like normal… and it will pick up all the details for use on your base mesh?
i dont know f you have “real” uv´s applied or if its just zsphere fun.
if it has uv´s you have to go down to lowest subdivision level you want to use. if sd level 1 is to far away from the looks of the model you should go up to level 2 and press delete lower.
while sd level 2 active go into the menu point morph target and press store mt.
then go to the tab displacement and press create dispmap or so.
there are alot of tutorials to be found on this issue on zbc.
Lostinlmbo,
Hey my friend, well looks like your having fun and your model is taking on life of its own. Keep with it, be nice to see this one finished. Like I’ve been doing so much lately, it appears your work has had the nasty low rater poster drop in and pay it a visit without giving concrete advice as to why its a low rated work when in fact its good work. So i’m going to give you 5 stars to bump this thread which should be rated as good and at the least not below average. Hope you dont mind, keep the sculpts coming and I’ll be dropping by to see what you got coming next. small_orange_diamond
thanks guys… great comments… and great advice… very helpfull.
glad you liked it… hopefully i will keep making progress learning the inns and outs of gettig a piece ready for rendering
just another advice. i would never use the snakehook brush its fun and all but i find it just has this ugly snakehook brush look:lol: great explanation
as for angel j´s comment: as an fan of sebcesoirs works i guess you can tell the differences to high rated high class works yourself. it s a great beginner work and i myself was at the same level maybe even lower a year ago. thank god zbrush has a really neat learning curve and maybe one day you (or me) will have a toprow art piece but this is definitly not it. keep up the great work (btw his hands look really good!)
Looks pretty cool, I think you could improve the scales a bit though. It looks like you’ve used alot of alpha stamps, it might be cool to make some larger, hand sculpted scales throughout, and maybe circling the eye like a real lizard. Also the horizontal lines across the chest could be more dynamic, I don’t know if you are using a specific peice of concept art for this, but to me it feels like you have done a fairly good job sculpting the torso anatomy, but those lines are detracting from it. Maybe it would be nice to see them taper up or down as they reach the center line? Just a thought. Also the purple colored area on the back is getting blurry, maybe your poly’s are stretched out there?
Btw the weapon looks great, is that an original design?
