I had the great opportunity of modeling and sculpting the Sunwell Blood Elves for our Midnight cinematic reveal in collaboration with Blake Sullivan and my lead Jason Huang. Making these guys was really fun, almost as fun as watching them get thrown around the battlefield as they make a noble attempt to fight off the Void. Blood Elves hold a special place in my heart as they were the first character I created when I started playing WoW. Fast-forward all these years, I would have never thought I’d be helping the cinematics team build the Thalassian Army of Blood Elves to help defend the Sunwell!
Sculpted completely in ZBrush first, then once look was approved retopo was done on the hard surfaces in Maya for the final subdivision meshes.
