Working on my modelling skills (body added)

I’ve just spent a very hectic three days alone with ZBrush. I’ve been through every nook and cranny and turned every stone of the application. Not one stone left unturned, not one nook left uncrannied. These are a few of the results.

It may look like not much work, and it may look like a pretty pathetic image to upload, however I’ve just worked so hard on these two guys, I felt I needed some feedback and motivation.

I have started a body for the fat guy on the right. I decided to model the heads seperate from the body, due to the amount of detail that needs to go into a head, and when your swinging a fully modelled body around the workspace, the application starts to slow down making it unbearable to work with. I found it easier to make the body, and the head seperately then connect the two. Any feedback would be good! Thanks.

These are VERY good! I’d like to see them textured :+1: :+1: :+1:

These are Great Heads–real distinctive characters–amazing work for 3 days intense study–I envy your ability  :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Awsome, truly awsome! (I like the fat guy)

That looks very well modelled…very!

“Sigh” I still cant do a mouth :frowning:

Oh well, beautiful work man!

BEAUTIFUL modelling MJ…
The most basic advice is to put your body and head on a seperate layer, then merge when you are absolutely sure you have them where you want them…Also, make absolutely sure you have MRGBZ and ZAdd selected when you merge the layers. Then some blending, detailing, and last minute additions, and there you are!

A fine start with this sensitive modelling…Give it the time it deserves… :+1: :+1: :+1:

Tell you what, modesty is one thing, but this is the most modest comment I’ve heard in awhile…these heads are wonderful, and reflect every bit of thought and work you put into them. :+1: :+1: :+1:

Reminds me of Ed the Atoms work, nice job! :+1: :+1: :+1:

Sorry, I’m not the one to be able to offer advice on modelling, but I can appreciate good work when I see it. Pathetic is not a word I would use here, more like… let me se… excellent! :+1:  :+1:

Very nice modelling on both of them! I like the setting also. It gives them a soft, yet detailed look at the models :+1:

i like those image’s :+1:

Pathetic? Hardly! This is the kind of modeling many of us (myself uncluded) dream about!

I agree with everyone… I think these are really really great! a ton of :+1: :+1:

Same here…great modeling!..Remember, You are your worst critic…it is like that with most artist…one is never completely happy with their work…though there are exceptions.
Keep it up!

Thanks everyone for your feedback! Here is another render, still just in the playing around stages. Not sure how far I will go with this guy. Once again, just a learning exercise.

Wauu MJ!! I like more u modeling skill!!! Very well!!! :+1:

GUYS, I THINK WE´LL HAVE SOME GREAT WORKS TO SEE HERE IN ZBC…

I don´t like at all to say “your works looks like xyz works” but in this case I must say that your work quality reminded me of southern´s works( I think this is a good thing so I hope you don´t get it for bad because you have your own style but in terms of quality is high-top-quality!!!)

Great modeling, great lighting. I think you got this wrapped up ~G~ Sky’s the limit. Very good.

Please don’t get the wrong idea, the modelling is among the best i’ve ever seen on the forum.
I just think to put down something that others will obviously be in awe of is a bit disconcerting to someone perhaps learning to use the program.
Finishing on a good note though, I love the fat man model, can’t wait to see him textured.

wow… just wow…

although on the body image I hope you plan to move the shoulders back a little… if you don’t and have your own specific design for having it that way then please ignore me.
But otherwise the shoulders really bug me… heh… other than that tiny gripe (easily fixed or the complaint discarded altogether) I’m very impressed… what other 3d programs have you used (still use?) before Zbrush?

Just some curiosity…

wow oh wow is right!! I really think you have it right!! Can’t wait to see another update!!! :+1: :+1:
