Woman lying in bed (classic style) - WIP

Hi guys, I started yesterday my new project, something that will help me work on something I always screw up : women … and clothing.

This is the face of my model, based on different pictures that I mixed up together. I started a first time then no matter how I tweaked / moved sculpted everything, it always seemed ugly.
This picture is from the second attempt, took me 2 and a half hours to do it.

I’ll try to work on the body tonight, but so far do you see anything wrong / out of place ?
All comments & critics welcome.

So, here is the body…
Took me 4 hours to glue the head and a base (male) body together, retopologize and get a shape that’s acceptable. I’ll transpose this week-end as I doubt I’ll have time to work on it tomorrow

Please tell me what you think of her / what needs to be worked on.

Thx everybody

Hi guys,
I’ve been working quite a lot on my sculpt, it took me a while to find a pose that satisfied me.
I changed the concept a little bit, I decided that it would be more interesting to have that woman to be carved out of wood, from a whole tree trunk.

Here is what it’s like, I have to accentuate the mix between the woman and the trunk, and do the bed sheet / wrinkles … so much to do still, but I’m pretty happy with the direction it’s taking.

What do you think of it ?

A new update, the tree looks more like a tree, the bed sheets too …
I’ll start to do a little bit of ground, and after that some texture, but I’m not sure how I’ll do that part yet.

Comments & critics more than welcome.

Hi - I like the figure so far although her lips are not right - study all angles of lips and see how they are. They look here to be stuck on - also your hands and feet need more shape - I know this is the hardest part but it’s what shows in the end - the whole image must be consistent and all parts must be equally worked if you are going for classic style.

Another thing regaring her position - make sure she is weighted correctly with relation to the tree. She looks like she is hovering atm.

Hope this helps - Good Luck
Stu

Thx Stuu, I’ve been taking all you said in consideration.
You’re right on for the hands and feet (I actually didn’t do anything for the feet until this morning), and I’ve spent a little bit of time tweaking them so they look better.

I’m not sure about the lips though, I feel what you mean but my eyes & fingers don’t find a way to make it better … I’ll keep looking.

Here it is with the new feet & hands. I also started to make the final scene, pretty much all the elements I want are in the picture now.

C&C welcome.

This is a render I made today. I spent quite a while in photoshop tweaking the light, colors & so on…

I can’t wait to know what you guys think of it (event if you say it’s crap :p) --> Comments & critics welcome as always.

I has turned out very nice, though still the fingers (knuckles too flat)and toes are slightly off (bit finger-ish) - but of course you can only get better at them.
