Witcher 3 TGA ERROR

Hey guys.

I am having a nooby problem that is confusing me alot. I have downloaded the witcher 3 modkit tools and have uncooked the files. I have exported the TGA file into a folder. My problem is someone told me to download photoshop and save as psd and then open that with zbrush. Now i did that and it did not work.

Then I tried looking at the 3D tab into photoshop but the picture is not 3d. My probem is now how do i convert this file into a file that will open in ZBRUSH.

The file name is: h_01_mg__geralt_d01.tga

If anyone can please tell me the steps (Clearly please) into converting this into a file that will be allowed in ZBRUSH. Trying to use spotlight so i can change the model or sculpt

Hi,

ZBrush can’t import TGA files directly. You should be able to import a PSD file though - press the “Load” button in the Texture palette and select the file. Note that once imported the texture won’t be automatically selected, so you’ll need to click on its small thumbnail in the texture palette.

The file you are wanting to work with is only an image file. It’s a texture map for a 3D model which you will also need to import into ZBrush if you want to work on them together. I’m not familiar with the Witcher modkit but if you can save the model as an FBX file then you can import that into ZBrush. It should come in with its textures as well that way. You import using the FBX plugin in the Zplugin palette.

HTH,
