Wire/Poly Frame on Multiple Subtools

Hi All,

I’m trying to come up with a way of displaying my polyframe on multiple subtools at the same time. So far all I a can see in the threads is setups like the one Aurick describes where you change your background to black and then put a black material on your sculpt and then switch the wire to white that works awsome but requires a bit of compositing to sort it out for multi subtools. BUT is there a way I can display the polyframe on all the subtools at the same time without merging my subtools?

Thanks

Not while in Edit mode. The polyframe only displays on the current SubTool. However, if you’re rendering from a specific angle you can do this by hiding all but one SubTool. Press Shift+S to snapshot that one in place. Switch to another SubTool and Shift+S again. Repeat until all SubTools have been snapshot.

Hi Aurick,

Thanks for your reply. Your suggestion would work fine but I’m looking to record a movie / Turnaround of my model without having to go to my other 3D app.

Sorry I guess I should have clarified that I am trying to record a movie.

Is there a way to bake the wireframe out as a textrure?

i would think this could be scripted into the turntable master plugin.

You can do this using the Turntable Plus plugin, available from the Download Center. Simply switch on polyframe (Shift + F) and then make sure the HD Geometry option is selected in the Turntable Plus options (you don’t need HD Geo for this to work). Note that depending on the size/length, the movie could take a while to record. If you don’t want polygroup colors you can adjust the PFill sliders in the Preferences>Draw submenu.

HTH,
