hehe interesting creature!

Many moons ago when I was a year or two younger than I am now:rolleyes: , there were some trading cards out that had some creatures like this. I can’t remember the name of them now…whacky weirdo’s or something like that. Anyway it brought back some memories.

Let’s see some more! maybe a whole deck worth?

Updated version. Still have some modelling to do, but played in Photoshop (I WILL get used to using ZB to colour!) because I needed a break from modelling!

Jantim: I think you’ll find that the mutated evil twinbrother of Mr Krabs from Spongebob has a slightly shorter nose, is a couple of years older, and has spinach in between his upper front teeth.

Sirquadalot:Thank you, and yes it was generated in ZB2.

Frenchy Pilou: He says he doesn’t mind the wheels, but he’s worried where I’m going to stick the engine.

Marciani: Thank you. Can’t deny there’s a slight influence. Giger’s been my favourite artist for years.

Aminuts: One down (Maybe!) Fifty one to go! Unless you want ‘Jokers’ too?

hahaa but of course…jokers too!!

I’ll take what I can get tho…although everyone would be a ummmm learning experience blah blah blah.

looks groovy as he is!

Hey,

I really like the kind you modeled here, especially the interesting looking details. I also like your choice of colors, texturing seems quite nice!
What makes me a bit confused are the strange and rubber-like looking eyes - They seem to have an negative effect on the composition - stealing the flair. What abt some real looking deep and dark eyes or some fishlike with specs on it? The other thing: Maybe its just a question of personal choice, but I would like to see a render with smoother shadows and/or more GI to lighten the deep-black areas, where you cant see the model anymore. Just 2 suggestions from here

I want to see his family and some other friends, is that managable?
Again, the model is very cool and strange, detailing has something special - keep up!

greets froyd

Hi Froyd,

You’re right about the eyes and the render. The character started off as a simple comic character, but the I started modelling and the dark side took over!! As to the render, I used one downward light to make it dramatic looking and emphasise the detail, but it does need at least some fill in lighting to soften the shadows.

Thanks for the comments. When I’m staring at something for hours on end, sometimes I can’t see the wood for the trees and I need a fresh perspective.
