A couple of works in progress ready for the Queen’s 88th birthday…well, they’re not actually for her…lol
Currently playing with volumes and shapes for the hair, hence why it looks like cake icing…
And now that I look at it, young Queen needs her eye sockets lifting out a little…
Usual scale - 0.3mm sculptural height, for a coin 38mm diameter.
Personally I think the ‘older’ version looks good, the only thing that seems a little odd is the Hat and the textures used on the underside. Possibly her nose being a little on the large side, I could be way off on that point as I don’t have the reference image. If so please ignore 
It’s an odd angle to sculpt her from. She looks like she’s got something nasty under her nose…
The hat has quite a complex curve to it, which isn’t worth the time to replicate, as it’ll never survive reduction down to the final tool. Same with the texture. I always over-egg them, knowing that the dies will be ‘enthusiastically’ frosted, and run for 3 or 4 re-polishes.
