Hi

Just a quick few crits. Needs eye sockets, ear angle wrong, edges of lips to sharp, needs cheeks, top of head buldging up too much, the forehead needs to be a bit more forward (this is connected with the eye sockets and the nose issue, its all too flat inside). Maybe just my impression tho, its so hard for me to see something when the model has no eyes :stuck_out_tongue: dont know why, it must be a wire in my brain.

Nicely textured, you took your time for the spores even.

:+1: Thx for the critique… will see if i can fix some of those issues. Only one thing the angle of the ear what is wrong with that ?

The eyes i am planning to do add them later in a different 3d package as that tool to make several objects i can’t get the hang of it in z-brush

Well from this angle the ear seems to be sweeped back too much. The front part of it looks too meaty so maybe thats the only reason, but if you make it less meaty perhaps you will need to move the ear a bit to the front? Its really hard to say, its the sort of fine tuning you have to do in real time, and the same goes for all my critique. For this reason its better if you post at least 3 angles, otherwise it might turn out im talking out of my behind and it’s all ok. shrug I mean the ear might not be sweeped back too much it might actually be “bent” towards the outside of the head (satelite type ears) so i cant tell.

:+1:

perhaps you are right about the ears being to far in the back off the head… will see how it looks more to the front. Also not really happy with the thickness of the edge of the ear and the hole of the ear…

Here is some other views and wires

Ah yes now you can see how the whole upper face is slanted towards the back. Thats why i said the forehead and the cheeks need to be further forward or pronounced. Maybe just staring at anatomy of people faces for a few hours will let you visualise in 3d what needs to be done on his face. At another glance, he looks like his whole head is tilted back a little. He has too much skin under the jaw, looks a bit too saggy imho, and since he isnt a fat guy maybe pull that up a bit. Perhaps the whole top neck is too long, and generally where it connects to the jaw. Eyes need to be further apart as well. First thing they teach you at anatomy class is that the pupils of the eye should be above the ends of the lips, and that the nose should be as tall as the ears. Try that. But it generally helps to stare at anatomy for hours and try to feel it with your eyes, sort of thing. Oh and, perhaps you could make his back jaw (under and forward of the ears) a bit thinner because it looks almost wider than his skull which i dont think it should.

Maybe it would help you if you started working in the side view by having a human skull as a canvas background and work from there? Same for the front.

And perhaps someone else has something to add, i never before criticised other peoples work so i might be plain wrong. Its different when i work on my own models in real time, sometimes i realise what i thought was wrong only looked wrong before i fixed something else. Know what i mean?

:+1: Thanks for all the tips, I will see if i can improve it some more… very helpfull comments thanks :+1:

I done a quick testrender with a clay material to see how it looks…
