This is my first Work In Progress thread. For this project, I plan having the Elrick brothers in the middle of an alchemy battle. This is just the base modeling for Edward Elrick. I plan getting in as much detail as I can. Suggestions and critiques are very much appreciated!
Im feeling the direction this is going. The legs look long compared to the torso, but its anime and the anatomy and cloth looks pretty good so far. I really like how the metal arm is coming together.
Looks very good man
You managed to capture his character well.
Looking forward to more.
It’s sad and exciting at the same time that manga (and anime) is about to end… I really like it.
A quick update on the hair and facial expression.
@ Odin
Ya, it is sad. But then again, we were lucky enough to get a 2nd better looking version of the same anime series.

Hey this is going great! Very good! w8ing to see more!
his eyes are wayy wayy wayyyyy too big, and his chin schould be a lot sharper.
He looks more like luffy from one piece rather thats someone from full metal.
Oh yeah, and you going for a low poly model with this later ?
An update on Edward’s boots. Critiques/tips are welcome. Haven’t figured out all of zbrush yet.
Thanks for the usefull critique, I’ll fix that sure enough. I guess I could, but for now I just want to make the best sculpt that I can.

looking really good man cant wait to see the final product…i have a quick question, i just started learning zbrush, and i have a question about posing. do you pose the character when you are done with most of the modeling or do you pose it i guess lack of a better term during the zsphere stage…if you us zpsheres at all…thanks in advance…and keep up the awesome work
Haha, I’m in no position to teach anyone on how to pose a model in zbrush. This is my first full model in zbrush. All I did before this were heads. I’m planning to use the plugin transpose master, but when I do, the pants for exemple get way way way too big and lose all detail…so I’m having problems there. It’s pretty much trial and error at this point. But for the modelling, I read that you should model the hard edge stuff before posing like the body or shoes and when you create the pose, you go on to the more clothy parts. That’s why I haven’t started on his jacket yet. Hope that helps.
loving those boots, was originally going to crit the face but you really pulled it together, can’t wait to see the finished product
the pants look gd. just wondering why you started painting and shaders before your overall model is done. But all way leads to rome. carry on.
thanx for the tip
Really starting to shape up nicely! looking forward to seeing it develop
Update on Edward’s Automail, I am open to critiques and suggestions! Thanks to those who have commented already, it’s really encouraging.

Beau sculpting Personnellement, je trouve les doigts un peu maigrichons par rapport au reste de la main. Je suis d’accord avec Slocik sur le fait que les yeux mériteraient d’être rapetissés ou p-e les mettre plus haut un peu. Keep it up!
Merci Jah, t’as raison pour les doigts. Je vais m’en occuper en même temps que j’ajouterais de l’usure. Cé déja fait pour les yeux, devrais updater ca et d’autre choses bientôt.
Update on the belt. Almost time to start working on the pose before getting to work on his jacket.

Update on the overall character, haven’t been able to work on it as much as I would have liked, but I’m just glad I’m still getting things done. I fixed the face and the fingers a little bit. Up next is the pose!
