I’m wondering, is it possible to run Zbrush 3 on a mac system with parralels desktop?
If so, does it run good?

It runs suprisingly well–partially due to Zbrush’s unique approach to managing the screen/workspace. On my Intel Macs (Macbook Pro and Macpro Quad) ZB works excellent in Parallels.

Kerwin,
The only reason I haven’t installed Parallels is I’ve read a few people complaining about Paralles 3 and it having a lot of bugs etc. What is your experience, has it run well for you?
Personally I haven’t run it at all yet, nor mac much. I’m moving to mac soon and will be taking Zbrush with me or not moving at all… That’s why I want to get acquanted with ways to run windows on mac until there’s a mac version that runs natively on a mac pro. So far, I’m on winXP for a long time and now that Vista came up, that was the last “hiccup” I was going to take from microsoft.
Additionally to the fact that I get a virus regularly on my comp, mac is looking much nicer… I really can’t wait to get a new mac.
Parallels 3 just corrupted my bootcamp partiton…
Parallels is OK but will limit you, Bootcamp is the best in terms of performance but you are lumped with the hassle of rebooting…
IMHO use Bootcamp, but don’t use Parallels to access Bootcamp as thats what buggered my set up…
So far so good, but I don’t expect that much. I also use the snapshot capability to quick restore setups and back-up to my mac disks frequently. Only had one major crash (under Parallels 2) which resulted in a win registry corruption.
I don’t use bootcamp much personally–too much hassel.
