Hi everybody…
I’ve kept the same modeling and studied a little bit of render and caustics…
Hope you like it!

Hey great work!

He he he, I thought that was a picture and that you were F.O.S. then I really looked…Holy cow. I think that is one of the best renders I have ever seen.

Really impressive

it looks great. but i think you have a small problem. on the eye it looks like there is a light source coming from below the shark. if the reflection is coming from the sun then the light would be brightest near the top of the eye.

Fantastic work. Definitely one of the best underwater renders I’ve seen. You nailed it.

Aside from the caustic projection, what were some of the techniques you used to achieve your underwater effect?

-Dustin

Hi everybody, I’m very glad and thankful for reading your comments!!!

Mr. Dustinbrown I’ve rendered the shark separately with Caustics and G.I. effect. The Ocean I’ve rendered Just the “major tones” and a very bright light on the top…

In Photoshop I’ve did the post effects > With a photo reference, and overlayed I worked out with brightness / skin tones / add the fishes and mainly the “blur” effect of the underwater ambient. Layer by Layer.

Thanks again!

That does look very good. But is it just me or does he not have eyes?

Hi Harmonic…

the eyes of the great white withe are 10 times more sensible to the light then the human eyes thats wht they’re black as a snooker or billiards ball… In a attack situation he targets the victim, turns it ( the eyes ) back to protect his tail and bites… The Ampullae of Lorenzini on his Nose are the great responsable for detect a victim and calculate the distance…

Thanks !!!

Great work!!. It is almost as close to photo real as you can be.

I do agree with the lighting on the eye though. It is the only part that looks a bit off.

Ok Guys…
Your comments will make it more realistic!!!

I’ve tryied to crrect the reflex on the eyes.
Please let me know if its ok now…

Thanks again!!!

Woww… the image…:

Sorry!!!
Now the final image with the correction on the eyes…

Thanks!

the eye is the only issue with this render

shark eyes are no where near as reflective as you made your eye…it looks to be pasted on at this point

great white eyes are recessed and very black…very little reflection comes off of the eye while they are underwater

it needs to be non reflective, recessed with a visible “brow” ridge, right now it is just a globe on the outside that detracts from the piece overall

take a look at these pictures to see what i mean

you fix the eye and I couldn’t tell you the difference between your render and a photo but right now that eye sticks out like a sore thumb

I’ve tryied to correct the eyes…

Guys, would please tell me if it’s getting more realistic?

Thanks for all feedbacks!

I like the model ,the texturing and the overall composition, but the final composite looks a little washed out. I feel there needs to be more depth in it. Maybe you need to increase the contrast a bit by playing with the lights and shadows. That will give it a more menacing appearance; that is if you want to give it that look. I also feel the overall blue hue is stronger than it needs to be. That is my two cents

This looks so beautiful. About the eye issue, this might be wrong, but I was told once that many shark eyes are jet black so they would give off little or no reflection from light, but I think maybe if they are coated with water maybe some reflection…? The final image seems to lack contrast, nothing really pops out at me, but then agn the image is very blue. Quite small crits btw. But overall I think it is very believably underwater and the shark is amazing :+1: I would love to see a 360 turn of this!
