Hi friends,
I think zBrush must like other applications be able to remember, which is the right default folder for which saving or opening command:
EXAMPLE:
First I want to save a zBrush project and I’m navigating to the folder (which could be outside the nested zBrush folders). Afterwards I want to store a UI preference (“save UI” for example), but now the programm opens that last choosen project folder.
That is really wrong, time consuming and annoying! After I navigated back again to the preference folder, my default setting for storing project files is again lost!
A “preference setting” is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS to store at its same location and I don’t want to have to search it all the time again and it would be easy to give it a separate default file path.
And the same with my actual working project. In Maya e.g. we can “Set project” and everything is stored well located, but it doesn’t disturb global preferences at all. The same with Photoshop and any other high developed application.
If anybody can help please tell, otherwise please share my request to fix this problem. Thanks!
=> Further more:
When I am saving a file (.ZPR for example) into a folder, I can not see which other kind of files are there contained (JPG, TIFF, exr etc). So it makes it even more complicated to ensure that this is the right folder. When I want to load an Image I can’t see which kind of image formats are contained. If for example there is a JPG it’s invisible when the search preference is set on “.psd”.
p.s. In my opinion the Usability / Interface of zBrush could learn a bit more from the achievements of other established applications.
It’s not necessary to invent the wheel new, if someone did already 500years ago.
Even the same with the missing possibility of floating windows. zBrush UI feels for me still after months always rather swimming than having full control and overview. Even if you are used to it, it isn’t as handy as it could be.
I just hope for a big change in zBrush5 soon.
