Ok, another question…is it normal for the ‘Create Shell’ function to increase the polygon size of one’s model? In the case of the one I’m working on, the size is being nearly doubled despite being hollowed out. Again, any and all help is greatly appreciated!
No, not normal.
It should be 4x polygon count:D
Edit:
Stupid remark by me
4x would be in case of one poly mesh
Well, yes, if I’m understanding you correctly. Create shell (with dynamesh?) creates an interior-facing surface that mirrors the outer facing surface of polygons. So a “doubling” is roughly what you’d expect, though this varies with Dynamesh resolution setting. If your resolution setting is low enough, you can actually reduce polycount, although surface detail will also be lost.
Ahhhhhh…I see. That makes sense now. And yes, I was using Dynamesh/ Create Shell. Ok, that clears up another hurtle, lol. Thanks guys!

Correction:
6x
1+1+4 on 4 open edges, should know how many sides cube have:D
Lol!
