Why does ZB. sometimes cause mesh defects in non joint areas when Boolean unioning

I have noticed some times when doing a boolean operation in Zbrush, that although the meshes being used have been checked before hand in another app. and have no naked edges or non manifold edges before the boolean operation, that after the boolean operation in Zbrush naked edges and or non manifold edges will apear in the resulting booleaned mesh in areas that were not in the joint area of the two meshes being joined , and as I mentioned, before the boolean these areas were perfect.

Does any one know why this happens?
