Why are there 2 origins?

Imgur
As you can see in the image, there are 2 origin points, one on the floor, and the other above it. How do I either delete or move that higher one, so its not some arbitrary distance above? Is it linked to a subtool or something else? Where is the settings for these, because they seem useful, but I don’t know what they are.

Looks like you might have one of the other axis planes selected in the floor visibility icon (the little X Y Z in the upper part of the button). By default the icon has just Y selected.

Also check the Draw | Elv (Elevation) slider. Should be -1 by default, meaning the floor plane is drawn at the lowest point of the model (for shadow rendering purposes) rather than the world origin (0,0,0).

Welcome to ZBC!

It’s just that you have the floor plane enabled. The top axis indicator is the origin (0,0,0). There are then axis indicators for each plane. You can have all three planes (X, Y & Z) active if you want by clicking the letters in the Floor button but if you turn them all off you won’t see the origin.

As Tobor8man says, you can change the Draw>Elevation. If you set it to 0 the grid will be at the origin. If you then change the Grid Color in the Draw>Modifiers to the same color as the viewport background the grid will disappear.

oh wow thanks! that’s exactly it, I didn’t know that there were floor offsets for each axis.

I didnt know I could change those colors, that’ll be useful to make it more visible if I need it. Thanks!
