White borders

In windows 8 whenever I minimize the z brush window then maximize it again I get a nasty white border on the right side of the full screened z brush window. Where you normally pull out the windows 8 bar to access the start and search. I can’t get rid of it, anyone else with windows 8 ever experienced this?

I only use windows 8 in desktop mode, I have actually gone as far as removing all the apps that cause that metro crap to pop up…
However the symptom you are talking about sounds like you have had something change the resolution of your monitor, this could be any of those inane “apps” that come with windows 8 boxes or anything else that does this sort of thing automaticly, games are a big one.
Try restarting and don’t use the metro stuff, also don’t run games or anything else that changes your resolution, I bet this fixes the problem.

It’s weird, even disabling the taskbar that is to the right won’t make the white borders go away. Whenever you minimize the Z brush and pull it up again it happens. Pressing alt and tab to switch between apps works just fine. But the moment you minimize Z brush…white borders. The resolution of the computer is the same still, I think it’s something with z brush, I’m running it on a laptop maybe that also has something do with the borders.

Im on a laptop as well…

Try this:

Reboot.
Get into desktop mode (not metro, that just adds a whole new layer of stupid to the problem).
Start ZBrush.
Minimise Zbrush.
Maximise ZBrush.

Did it happen?
If it did I would guess that something during your startup process is messing with your monitor.

If it did happen contact Pixologic support because they will want a list of what processes you have running maybe, and stuff like specifically which version of 8, what your video card is, and whether its got custom settings that might be screwing with you.
These guys are good and will walk you through the process of getting that info, it shouldn’t be a big deal.
