Which tool for posing ?

Hello friends !

If I have finished my model, and I want to make a different pose now, which tool do I have to use for ?

Is it the Action Line only ?

thx for every little help,
capu

You can also create a skeleton of zSpheres and rig your mesh to it. Look in the Topology Flow Lab thread for details.

Also apparently you can export your base mesh, pose it in another app and reimport it back in to pose your model. I haven’t tried this myself though…

thank s for your reply.

Well, I know htat I could use Zspheres at the beginning and pose my mesh I would ike to have.

But I thought, I can repose now my mesh with a new feature in zbrush 3.
Has this something to do with Topology ?

I think no, or ?
Because the Topology gives me just information on how my mesh structure is, so the topology or the mesh density.

but I just wanted to know the name of the tool for re-posing my mesh.

hmmm… or did I missunderstand here something ?
thx for every little help,

No i’m not talking about the zSpheres you used to create your base mesh (though those will also work) zB3 has new rigging tools that let you create a skeleton of zSpheres and then bind your mesh to them for posing.

Details of this can be found in the Topo thread. It has info about all of the new rigging and retop tools.

wow, so that means, you have already built your new model, and after that, you create new zspehres for a different pose - and attach this new zspheres as new pose to the created mesh… sounds great… I will take of course a closer look on this thread again… it’s really a monster thread… but a good one…

thx a lot,

Yes, with the volume rigging option you basically build a ZSphere skeleton within your model, bind the model to it, and then pose the ZSpheres to pose the overlying model.

Alternatively, you can use TransPose to pose the model by using the action line. No rigging involved.
