Welcome to ZBC. I have moved your question to the Other Questions and Troubleshooting Forum - the best place to ask about things.

To answer your question: the Max Points slider was removed in the 4R6 because of changes to the way curves work. You can change the number of points along a curve by changing the Draw Size of the brush. Thanks for pointing that out, I have corrected the error in the online docs.

YAY ! I’v changed the ZBRUSH Official documents ! XD

But i’v tried to change the brush size and click on the curve and the only thing that changes is the size of the strock but not the amount of links, I can change the curve steps under the “Curve” menu but it changes the length as well .

It would help if you explained what you are trying to do.

I’m trying to change the curve smoothness after it was already made, i can only change the size of the brush to the desire size and then create the curve, but i cant edit it after it was already made, i want to do so to make the " Max Points " effect . how can i do it otherwise ?

Lock start of curve, pull on other end and it will straighten it some.

May be you want to change the Curve Steps?

EDIT: Oops you have already changed that. Sorry

But than it changes it’s shape and this is exectly like making a new curve…
With the “Max Points” slider you could adjust the distance of the strocks without changing the shape of the curve, and than play with it till you’v got what you wanted .
It would be great if the curve would change it’s number of links after changing the brush scale and than click on it ( like it happens in the “Curve Mesh Insert” Brush, The problem is when i change the scale of the brush it also changes the size of the stroke, so there’s got to be a way to change it without changing the curve’s shape just like “Max Points” did, but how ?

Press the Smooth button in the Curve Functions section. You can adjust the Curve Smoothness slider to vary the effect. You’ll need to Undo (Ctrl+Z) to undo the result.

I’v tried that already but it doesn’t add links it only smoothes the curve .

But that is what you said you wanted to do. Between us I think we’ve covered the available options. You’ll have to experiment to see what gives you the result you want or explain in more detail what exactly you are trying to achieve. For example, which sculpting brush are you using? What are you trying to model? Screenshots also always help.

Notice how the curve twitches when i change the curve steps, with " Max Points " slider it would of change the distance between alpha strokes while keeping the same curve shape right?..

Thanks. As I suspected, I’m afraid there is no exact substitute for the Max Points slider and you will have to work with those features we have already mentioned. If I come up with something better I will let you know.
