Some of the older tutorials refer to inner radius under the initialize menu, where is this at?
If you’re using the ring 3D tool in the Tools>modifiers>initialise at the top is SRadius. That changes the inner diameter of the ring. In the same section there is an inner radius for the cylynder tool.
Is there a particular tool you had in mind?
Thanks for your help, I was trying to do the old teeth tutorial by pixolater and cant get the flat look with the SRadius button. I will try again maybe I was just using the wrong setting or something.
For the teeth tutorial I think you need the ring tool and use the coverage slider in the tool modifiers initialis to make it 180 degrees.
Also you can flatten half the ring in the tools>modifiers>deformation and use the flatten slider with Z only. I think the default is X so you will have to unclick X and then click Z to flatten the bottom half
oops I see what I was doing wrong, I was using Ring 3d not circle 3d. Thanks for your help I appreciate. I didnt realize there were different settings for different tools.
Many of the palettes have modifiers that are sensitive to the particular object in use. For example to import a tool into ZBrush you need to use the polygon tool as it has the Import modifier. The material palette also has different modifiers. When you use the basic material there are not many modifiers for it.
Most people would use the Ring to make teeth. I edited my above post which shows how to flatten the ring on one side.
I’m posting a script by Davey that is very good for explaining some controls for three of the tools. I can’t find the original thread it was in so I’ll upload the file.
Thank you for the explaination above the ring tool does work better, I tried the flatten Z method and that works great. Thanks for the script as well I know that will really help also.
