Where can I purchase models

Hey! Noob here - I’m putting away with Z2 on a mac (3 not avail yet though it looks awesome) I took something on I won’t be able to deliver on in time unless I can find some models for sale to at least get me started. I have to provide 5 - 2.5" tall high detail Roman Character models to be cast in pewter.
I have one done that I had machined using a five axis cnc and it cost a fortune so if anyone knows a better way to generate a prototype that can be used to make a high detail mold from I’m all ears!

anything out there? anybody freelance?

Thanks pride - I did see those and spent quite a bit of time trying to understand the whole topology thing. Quite complex stuff. I imagine a future version will simplify this at some point.

I noticed in another thread where you mentioned that you have been using CNC i.e. router tables for quite a while now. Any machines, or sites you care to recommend? I’m trying to get as fluent as possible in this wonderful world of digital clay.

Markus, excuse late reply,I’ve been away. You asked about recomendations reguarding machines, I have built both of the main carving routers we use.
youtube have some videos of cnc routers working. I think your little figures would be better if they were mastered in wax or resin so you can do a clean up and make a mold(s) for short or long runs. I used to make a souvenir belt buckle for the special effects crew for every movie we worked on. They would be cast in pewter. From the RTV rubber mold we would provide the buckle makers would cast a return and then multiple hi-temp rubber molds 4-6 to make a run of the buckles. This was done very cheaply by a trophy maker and great detail. Spend the money (less than cnc) for a good 3D print from a printer like an Objet and “Bob’s your uncle”…that means “your’e cookin with gas” :slight_smile:
