When to retopologize

I’m relatively new to the word of zbrushing and have been learning through youtube and some paid tutorials. Ive got to a reasonable knowledge over the past 6 months I think and I’m having having trouble finding advice on when to retoplogize and when to not. I’m looking for advice and opinions as to whether it is best to detail a mesh while still dynameshing or to retoplogize with zremesher and subdivions then add detail. I’m having trouble finding advice or good tutorials on this 1.

As a noob here, ill tell you what i have found.

Dynamesh for the initial object shape. Big forms and such.

Add detail after zremesh. Give it more subs when you are not able to get the detail you want (start low, dont model from high from the beginning)

If its for a still render, you dont have to worry a lot about topology.
If its for animation, you will need to give it good topology (all quads, good loops and all of that).
