What's the point of HD geometry if you can view it all at once?

I’m not questioning the workflow itself, which I think is great! It’s the fact that you are editing the geometry to such high levels of detail you can’t actually sit back and marvel at your creation…

Or can you? Is there a way to render a (non-interactive) still of my image, such that it displays all the HD geometry? I can’t work out how to do this, and if you can’t, I really don’t see the purpose…

On another note, do displacement maps take into account HD geometry as well?

Thanks =)

Just hit the ‘sculpt HD’ button and you will get a preview of all your HD edits at once. To actually edit the HD levels, you have to use the ‘a’ hotkey, the button only previews.

And currently HD is its own lil world and doesnt work with displacments or notmal maps etc.

Ah cool thanks for the clarification =)
