Whats the best tablet to get...?

Hi all, I have just bought ZBrush 4r6 but I have previously only worked in ZBrush 3 on a friends computer using a mouse. My question: I’m sick of ‘sculpting clay wearing ski gloves’, so what’s the best kind/brand of graphics tablet to use with ZBrush and if I can’t afford it, which is very possible :), what’s another option? I’ve heard ‘Wacom’ is very good, is this right?
Please help…
Thanks, Kryssie

Tablets for ZBrush need to be Wacom compatible. The best Wacom is the Intuos range but I understand the Bamboo range is perfectly OK. As to which you get, whatever you can afford. Larger is not always better, it depends on your drawing style, but any tablet is better than a mouse!

Any wacom works like a charm! about differences between prices i do highly recommend new Intuos basic series versus bamboo manga, or those old series.
Love my small intuos pen and touch

I prefer the Intuos Medium. I tried the smaller ones at first due to budget but I found the medium is worth it. I find the large to be overkill in my experience. At work I use a Cintiq 22HD. I didn’t like the Cintiq 12 at all, especially for Zbrush. I have not tried the updated 12 (the 13HD).

So if you’re not going for the Cintiq I recommend the Intuos Medium.

I have the Bamboo and it works perfectly. If you are a pro you would probably want an Intuos as they are built to last, but for hobby use the Bamboo is excellent and not too expensive.

I use a Huion H610 Pro. I’ve used a Wacom Intuios and this is equally as good in Zbrush and Photoshop. And sooo much cheaper $89 including postage direct from their website.
