i have seen in conceprtart.org a wonderful thread where every artist post his favourite inpiring book whit a picture of the book so i wanted to make this for two reason for two reason the first is to help beginners like me and the 2nd is just that artists shares books names that can be helpful and inspirative to others
post book names and picture of the cover plzzz and you can post anything that has inspire you even if its not a book a game a dvd anything
i will start the book that inspire me is god of war artbook
i honestly canāt think of a book that i go to much now, but over the years these were a few i went to often. i have way too many sources of inspiration to count, well over a terabyte of images as well.
Every photo-book from Joel Peter Witkin, as he is the only artist I know who can make the most beautiful images with human corpses and deformed people. Looking at his work is a spectacular conflict between beauty and horror.
Witness to Roswell, because no living soul can claim after reading this incredible well researched book that the Roswell UFO crash never occurred.
You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you canāt fool all of the people all of the time.
Inspiring? You bet!

I was asked very often from where I got the knowledge about human anatomie and I guess this is the right place now.
During the time IĀ“ve learned it, one single book was following me every where I went (with my pencils).
Its a very fat, large and heavy book, tons of highly detailed drawings of really all parts of the human body. After studiing this book you will have no more questions about anatomie.

i like art of books, such as art of kung fu panda, art of the incredibles, etcā¦also art of Gris Grimly, really anything to get the creative juices going. recently ordered a book called alien race which is sort of an art of book. lots of cool creature and character and environment art.

Later now I can appreciate the artwork. Gurney is great and he blogshis guts out aswell.

That site has published a book - Massive Black. You can order it from there. Itās a collection of concept art for the entertainment industry. The way those artists capture character something to see. Lots of variety and amazing work.
Not my main source of inspiration, but worth mentioning since itās relevant.
Well, I like to read Biography most.Right now I am reading a biography of Abraham Lincoln.It is the most inspiring book according to me.The great American president.I like this book so much.this book is very interesting.I like the his hunger to know everything and the effort he did to study.This part of this book touched my heart.It gives us inspiration.
We should read once this book.

well thereās hundreds of books that inspire me hehe - reading is my main source of inspiration - next to films. I have an MA in literature, which might tell you sth LOL :rolleyes:
