Ok the way I use to search how to use zbrush was using google and it would give me links to pixologic.com regarding whatever I am searching for. In my case, this time, mesh insert dot brush. Now all it gives me is a useless online documentation page with very limited information. So like, am I missing something or what? I mean it doesn’t even have a search bar.
It seems that Pixologic has done away with the old, hugely outdated Wiki and replaced it with the new ZBrush 4R5 Online Documentation website which does have a search function BTW.
ok, my bad. When I previously used the search function it didn’t find any results. So I assumed it wasn’t made for the documentation site. This time I “played around” with the words and found 2 separate pages. One on how to use the mesh insert brush ( not mesh insert dot, unless they are the same thing ) and the other on a “separate search” on how to choose a mesh for the insertion. I said separate search because I managed to find what I was looking for (how to add a mesh to the brush ) on my own. Then I asked the fundamental question, does the site have “choosing a mesh for the insert mesh” on a separate page then how to use the insert brush. Oddly yes. Instead of having both on the same page to make it easier for people who don’t know how to use zbrush well if not at all, they made them separate. I’m willing to bet that it’s not the only thing that it explains on 2 or maybe 3 separate pages based on different searches you might make. But hey, it’s probably just me.
For MeshInsert Dot:
http://docs.pixologic.com/user-guide/3d-modeling/sculpting/sculpting-brushes/insert-mesh/meshinsert-dot/
It’s quite possible that you will find the same information on two different pages. This is because the new docs are arranged into different sections and some functions will be relevant in more than one place.
The new docs are constantly being added to and improved. There may be things that can be better explained, in which case we will make sure they are updated as soon as possible.
