Weird-looking dynamesh of z-sphere skin

Hi everybody,
I´m new to ZBrush and experimenting with z-spheres I tried to dynamesh a skin I had created and it developed some sort of “cracks” in the surface.
Can someone explain to me why this happened and how do I prevent it from happening again?

Hoping for a solution,
Scipio

Ok, you wrote that essentially ‘stuff went wrong’.
Your UI isn’t showing enough information.
What were your steps in order(before Dynamesh)?
It is a useful feature when used properly. I rarely use it.

Hi Doug,
Thanks for your answer
Before I made the dynamesh I followed these steps:

  1. unified skin palette < resolution 224<make unified skin
  2. “geometry” palette< dynamesh subpalette <increase resolution from 128 to 320< press the dynamesh button

See you,
Scipio

I honestly don’t know what you’ve done there, but when you make a skin from an active zsphere tool, it appears as a new skin mesh object in the tool list. Make sure to select that new tool and dynamesh that, not the active zsphere tool.

Also, you may want to use adaptive skinning with Zspheres, not unified. It produces cleaner topology.
