Weekly Challenge April 7th: Exiling Old Man Winter

We have desided to go back to a weekly format for the challenge. As always we encourage you to share your techniques, tools, materials, and any resource that might help other forum members understand how you created your image.

We have been hit by a wave of cold weather and snow storms in the northeast. It seems that Old Man Winter doesn’t want to leave us. This is why this weeks challenge will be :b4: EXILING OLD MAN WINTER :b4: . Old Man Winter has to go and you must deside how. Get rid of him in the most creative way that you can imagine.

Good luck with all your entries! I’m looking forward to see your work!

Edit: Don’t forget to add [Gallery Entry] to your final entry.

didnt get the time to really finish…all I have to show is what I call my rough. I did a sketch and then went about making my characters and quickly threw them onto a canvas to get a feel of what I wanted to do…looks like something my cat would have done…snicker…I will finish this image before long though…

Only a week???

I’ll have to get me skates on (hey that’s not a bad idea! Pushing Old Man Winter downhill out of town on a pair of skates) :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey Ron great start! But if he is to truly look like OLD man winter, he is gonna need a few more rinkles…

cute bunny, very good :+1:

Nice start folks!

Nice start Ron. I’m wondering what kind of fiendish plan have you come up for those bunnies. Weekend’s here and finally I had a chance to work on mine. Here is Old man winter’s preliminary face.

Oh wow Ron, that’s looking really good now!
Raphael yours is looking good so far too!

I hope to find some time tomorrow to get mine finished…

Well folks, this is by far the absolute worst picture I have ever done and dared to post!

But I just felt like doing it the way a kid would so I did! And here it is:

I hope you all have a good laugh on me

(notice I did not enter this for the gallery)

Hope this is not too late…

Hey Slosh, really nice work on the trees, a very good blend of foliage and the trunk which are both done equally well. I like the front grass as well. Nice image. :+1:

Nice work everyone, I personally wanted to post something but got swamped. I’m sure I’ll miss next week’s going through the manual.

PS, Rafael, old man winter looks like a crazy Roman emperor.
Some nice, clean modelling.

slosh i really love your picture!
tutorial?

Hi Slosh,
your picture is wonderfull!
I like it a lot :+1: :+1:

Well done Slosh! you should do more images of this type… :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Great start everyone!! Ron, nice technique on the eyelashes; you have so improved since the last time I was here! Cute bunny, thanks

Rafael, nice way of doing hair… I can see how this is shaping up very nice!

Northstar! Reminds me of when my kids were young! Thanks for the giggles!

Slosh, love the wysteria (or however you spell it); mountains in the background is fantastic!!! Love the trees, very nicely done!

Charming picture Northstar. I’m not laughing just smiling.

Nice picture Slosh. I agree with Deevee you should do more images like this. I like the concept as well as the execution.

Here is my final “Old Man Winter”. Doing this one reminded me why I usually don’t enter the challenges. You always end up compromising because of the deadline. On the other hand I did learn a lot doing it.

I just could not resist this one…Thanks for viewing.
