I am after a decent FREE web host.But have never done this before so I need alittle help.
I have done a search on google but they all seem roughly the same.They all look like pros on their sites but I have heard alot of people complain about different ones offering things but then they don’t come to the party.
I was going to use geocities but the FREE hosting link keeps taking me to a page that has 3 different planes - all that you have to pay for - no mention of the free hosting , so I guess they don’t do it any more.
Then I went to another called greatnow.com but they don’t allow File Linking.
If any one can be of assistance I’d love to hear from you.It would be greatly appreciated.

hey syco, the last GOOD free site that I know of was xoom.com (a few years ago) – no popups, minimal banner ads – but then they were acquired by NBC interactive (now MSNBC) and the terms included granting them something like perpetual non-exclusive rights to use your work.
[when xoom.com was acquired, I moved my stuff to paid hosting for a year – but since then, there hasn’t been room in the budget … maybe next year]
Even if there are free hosts that have moderate advertising and don’t have the above issue about licensing/copyright, they probably have a pretty low bandwidth limit.
This is a thread from CGtalk with some nice free hosts, i’ve set up an account at coolfreepages which gives you 50mb and one popup window which appears behind the active window.
