Water Splash Help Needed

I’m currently working on a project where I need to create a water splash. I’m having some problems getting it to look like the attached sketch. Any suggestions on how to build this water? water.jpg

I have already built the marlin. I just need help on the water.
Thanks in advance!

Do you need this for a still or animation?

check this water splash out!!

You could contact this guy for the rights - he’s a kid from Australia - and make a composite.

I’m not sure exactly what you want the final product to be… a still, or a model you can see in full 3d, or an animation?

At least, the image might be inspirational… good luck modeling the droplets!

I need it to be 3D model for manufacturing purposes. That’s a great image for inspiration like you mentioned. thanks for the reply.

So sculpt it in 3D. Try a sphere. Or try converting an alpha to 3d, then use the deformation tools to twist it. Then do another, combine with mulit-marker and if you want make that into a polyskin.

He’s a quick example…

Just a fast image, grabbed as a texture, then made into an alpha, then made 3d under alpha 2 sided. Then deformation tools - twist, then some fast add and subtract sculpting.

You can do immense detail this way, especially if you make the alpha 3d process very detailed.

Thanks for the reply! I think that’s the way to go. I appreciate your time helping me out!!

I think you might want to check this post. It really shows and the artist explains about how he worked with water splashes.
Ok have a good one!

Yeah, but you have to go cg… and wait for the download of images, then go through the many pages. Or can a direct link be supplied for just the water splashes? The technique is the same as outlined above. However the Marlin’s are sculpted from a large splash that later will be made into a physical model if I read correctly. Little splash drops won’t cut it. Oh well, Kurrie, keep us up-to-date, nuce drawing by the way. It’s been awhile since I fished for Marlin.
