Was Redshift CPU really shipped with Zbrush 2023 Subscription?

Hello there, I am REALLY INTERESTED in getting the subscription of Zbrush 2023 because I am really curious of how good is redshift inside Zbrush I want those emissive materials, shadow catcher materials, redshift materials and so on. . . In that I downloaded the Trial version of the 2023 to see if I can make it work only with the CPU because I won’t have money to pay for the redshift subscription as well, I can only pay for Zbrush. Having said that I tried to render with the trial of the 2023 and compared to a render of the 2022 and they are the same Zbrush BPR, not a single pixel changed between both versions.

Now that’s my main question Was Redshift CPU really shipped with Zbrush 2023 Subscription? I know a trial is not a subscription, but it should have the redshift CPU integrated right? and when I try to click the “Redshift” button in the render properties it tells me that “Sorry, Redshift could not be located” but that button is only if I had a redshift subscription right? or that button can still be enabled with only the Zbrush subscription as well?

Like I said I only have money to pay for the annual subscription of Zbrush and I will be happy enough if I have redshift CPU but looks to me that it doesn’t come with it. . .

Hi @Maikol_Merino ,

Sorry about the confusion! The Redshift “bridge” functionality comes with ZBrush 2023 by default, but the actual Redshift engine must be installed on the machine. Any qualifying license for ZBrush 2023 should also come with a license for CPU Redshift. Open the Maxon App and select the “Install” option for Redshift. Then restart ZBrush and enable Redshift in the Render palette.

I got all of that. That Zbrush is shipped with the Redshift BRIDGE and like you said It supposed to have a license of “Redshift CPU” which is what I want. But when I try to render something this happens:

and later this in the maxon app:

and this in my account:

So, Zbrush 2023 doesnt have any kind of Redshift CPU license, only the bridge and that’s it contrary of what you said or is that the Trial version is not for every product? What ever the case is if I wont have Redshift CPU (which is what I want it) with my subscription of Zbrush then why you guys keep saying that Redshift CPU comes with the zbrush subscription? isn’t it false advertisement? you offer me 3 things “Zbrush, Redshift Bridge and Redshift CPU” and I only get 2 of them. :frowning:

Hello @Maikol_Merino ,

I’ve deleted the images from your post that show personal account information. This is one of the reasons we cannot conduct technical support for the program over the public forums.

A Maxon One trial gives you access to all the Maxon products, including Redshift. A ZBrush trial is only possible as part of a Maxon One trial.

A license for Redshift (CPU) is included with ZBrush 2023 subscription. The Redshift program must be installed separately. Not every user wants to install this. However the ability to work with Redshift as well as a Redshift (CPU) license comes included with ZBrush 2023 subscription.

Please contact ZBrush Support for any technical issues with your license or with your ZBrush installation. There are local issues possible that may prevent ZBrush from being able to see a Redshift license.

Thank you!

I found the issue, my antivirus was blocking zbrush to communicate with the server. I added an exception and now redshift is working fine :upside_down_face:

Great! I’m glad you were able to find the problem. Security features interfering with the use of a program is not uncommon.
