Hi! a rather iconoclastic version of cave art… in fact I spent my childhood in Perigord, in the center of France, and came again in holidays this summer, re visiting Lascaux and others orned caves, with my wife and kids…and a curious idea was to see that men, circa -20000, have applied colors on 3d forms, using the stone to render an animal, or so on… Just a curious idea… Friendly M.
a part of the real cave…
and a pict of the head of the character, because as you see, re skinning after the first modelling allows a very free first approach, with creases and so on…when skinned, everything become again smooth…
lol Good humour!
Are those arms 3d? They look real!
arms yes. hands painted
so, does this guy know a chef who serves mammoth cutlets with perigord sauce?

He seems to be taking a rather unhealthy pleasure in his artistic accomplishments! I wouldn’t leave him unattended on the farm…

Your paintings look awesome and in addition you give your pictures great themes
LOL
You have the gift!
Marcel,
Which tools did you use to paint the hands? Is this all ZBrush, or did you paint some in Photoshop as well? Do you use texturemaster, or simply snapshot the model onto the canvas and paint?
Right now, I feel you are the one acheiving the best results with ZBrush (certainly the one being the most consistent and prolific) and would be grateful if you could share some insight into your texturing mastery.
Also, thank you for posting your work! Pixologic ought to hire you (either to help write the next manual, or to produce the graphics for their latest add campaign). You are the creme de la creme and should be granted some prominant position with this already talented company.
Hey Marcel, a fab fun troglodyte! By the way, great hands - they look almost photo-realistic.
excellent!!!
decidement “marcel” est gage de bon dessin humoristique… j’etais dans le Lot cet été et je n’ai pas vu cette grotte !!! :d
I was been in this country this summer… I don’t see this place !!!
