Wacom intous4 usb connecter detached? any fix or recomendations?

hi im not sure if others have had this happen or not but the usb connectors on the side have detached themselves from the circuit board its self and have fell in the inside of the tablet its self… i was wondering if there is any fix to this at all if i took it to some one to get it fixed, heard there has been problems with the shoddy soldering job they did on the intous4… so i wanted to ask the zbrush community if they have had any experience with this at all and what can be done to fix it…

thanks again for any help or info that you may have…

aw man troy i’m sorry to hear that happened. have you tried contacting wacom directly? it might still be under warranty, usually you can just send it back and they will either fix or replace it, i would start there, better to have the professionals fix it instead of some local electrician.

Hi,
maybe you’ll find something helpful here

hey Space i took apart the intous and from my stand point it looks like its made to break easily especially the way they soldered the usb connectors to the board its self… right now i have my back up intous 3 but its been through alot but it still works… yeah i haven’t contacted wacom yet because i figured they would charge in arm and a leg so ive been calling computer repair shops to see if they can fix it but most have never heard of wacom…lol… so im going to try to call wacom today and see what they say they probably wont consider it as a factory defect even though every where i look people are complaining of plugging it in once or twice and having there usb slot being pushed in… heres hoping that they can do something with it and make that part the most important part better designed…

thanks jmeyer i stumbled upon that thread when finding out if any body else has had problems with this same issue… it turns out that theres more complaints than there should be for such well known company for the art community…
