OK…i am new to zbrush and alot…ALOOOT of tutorials there always saying they use a wacom tablet…heres my question…the wacom cintiq 21ux…it can used as a regular monitor for doing other stuff of the comuter right? like wathcing movies…playing games…browsing the net…all the stuff a standard lcd monitor would do. cause soon im getting an Alienware desktop and if the wacom cintiq 21ux works as a regular monitor…i can use the keyboard and stuff if i want to then ill get that when i get my Alienware. gonna be a screamer man…12 gb ram (ddr3)…2.5 gb video ram…3.86 g processor and so on. just wondering if the 21ux is a monitor but that can do a whole lot more…hope this makes sense…thanks guys.
It’s a monitor with a transparent tablet on top. So yes, it’s a regular monitor. Plus the Wacom cool stuff and the mechanics to whirl it around as you like.

is it really good looking for games and so on? cause the alienware im getting …ill be able to run zbrush a lot better than my current pc. so instead of getting a monitor seperate…regular lcd monitor…since im using zbrush and do other stuff this would be the way to go right? screaming computer with an incredible monitor thats much much more than a monitor right? so this would be an ideal setup???
I wouldnt say its an ideal setup.
The cintiqs are facing upwards and are fixed to their stands.
Using it as an regular monitor wouldnt be handy.
An ideal setup would be one or two big screens plus a cintiq located somewhere
on the right or left on your desk so you can move over when u need it.
Keep in mind and LCD has a fixed number of hours in its life. Do you want to be spending them on work, or playing games? I’d recommend getting a cheapo LCD to use as your primary monitor for playing games, surfing the net, etc. No point in driving the ferarri to the grocery store
