Have any of you using ZBrush with OS X ever experienced a prompt for virtual memory disk space? This prompt has recently appeared when i launch specifically Zbrush? I really have’nt done much with the program any more thana few simple tutorials and haven’t saved any samples. I also have alot of room left hard rive wise.Hellllllllllppppppppp Meeeeeee! im ready to learn NOW.
What are your system specs? (Which processor, how much RAM, which version of OS X, etc.)
What is the exact text of the error message that you get?
Does it happen during the launch of ZBrush, or at some other time? If some other time, when?
I’m adding an image of the error message. I read a thread last night of a similar issue except the individual had a new mac intel and the reply to he or she was it wont be fixed until Z2.5. If i launch Zbrush this error comes up always now. This all started 6 months ago. If i start it skip the error it goes to an empty ZBrush screen with and arrow and a small clock? spins endlessly. If i then hit hide zbrush and relaunch from my apple tool bar it comes up fine. Seems to work but i don"t want to go through the process again and again. I am runnning a

How much free space is available on the drive where ZBrush is installed? The message you’re receiving indicates that the disk is almost full.
If there’s a lot of free space, the next thing would be to try renaming your UICustom.cfg file to see if the problem goes away. If it does, then one of your custom settings was creating a problem.
I have 60 gigs available on that drive. Where is this UICustom.cfg file located exactly? I never made a custom file in zbrush that i can remember?
UICustom.cfg is in the main ZBrush folder.
Another thing to try is to hold down the Shift key immediately after activating the icon to launch ZBrush. Keep it held down until after ZBrush has finished loading. This will disable your plugins so that you can find out if any of them are creating the problem.
Do Mac drives get fragmented? If so, another thing to do is defragment the drive. It’s fully possible for a drive with a lot of free space to get so scattered that ZBrush can’t find a large enough portion to make use of.
